Here are some sample letters to give some ideas if you aren't quite sure what to write. You may use the text in its entirety or snippets as you see fit. These should also give you an idea of where we are taking this campaign. While the "50 Most Beautiful People" and "Sexiest Sci-Fi Star" are generally somewhat shallow concepts, there is also the idea that these people have done a little more than just be pretty to make the list. So, while it is perfectly acceptable to send in a postcard or letter simply saying "Michael Shanks is hot!" a little more thought put into your efforts might really convince People and TV Guide that Michael Shanks is worthy to be included. Also, please keep in mind that we are nominating Michael Shanks, not Daniel Jackson - that's the guy on the right. ;-) Thanks!

Michael Shanks has portrayed the delicious Dr. Daniel Jackson on the sci-fi hit Stargate SG-1 for the past 8 years. Since the airing of the pilot episode on July 27, 1997, Dr. Jackson has become the heart and soul of this wonderful program and Michael Shanks, the embodiment of this wonderful character. His impact on the viewing audience has been so intense, that when he left the show after the fifth season, there was an unprecedented outpouring of support from his loyal fans to have him back on the show. Thankfully, they were successful and Michael Shanks returned for the show’s seventh season.
In addition, he has also made numerous guest appearances on other TV series including Andromeda, The Outer Limits and The Chris Isaak Show. He also appeared in the critically acclaimed TNT made for TV movie “Door to Door” with William H. Macy.
Michael Shanks has also been nominated for numerous acting awards. He won the Leo Award in 2004 for Lead Actor in a Television Series for his brilliant performance in the episode “Lifeboat.”
